  1. Service Graph has been deprecated and replaced by Kiali

View guestbook telemetry data -> Service Graph
Establish port forwarding from local port 8088 to the Service Graph instance:
    kubectl -n istio-system port-forward $(kubectl -n istio-system get pod -l app=servicegraph -o jsonpath='{.items[0].metadata.name}') 8088:8088
error: error executing jsonpath "{.items[0].metadata.name}": array index out of bounds: index 0, length 0
Error from server (NotFound): pods "Error executing template: array index out of bounds: index 0, length 0. Printing more information for debugging the template:" not found

As you can see above, istio-1.1.0-rc.5 does not even have Service Graph included. Please update course material.

  2. Update the training module labs with accurate content

The labs for using DB2 Warehouse are step up for DBdash and the layout and procedure is different. The table has to be loaded and isn't the default table. I'm unable to load file and don't know the cause.

  3. Hire some one with UX skills to review your CHECK/FINAL CHECK UI

It's really not clear what CHECK & FINAL CHECK do or the impact is of pressing them or why some Qs get to be SAVED and others don't. Get some usability testing.

Don't get me wrong, I can take a reasonable guess at their affordance but it's far from clear and unambiguous, so would benefit from a user experience professional (NOT the guy who wrote the code) running some user tests

  4. Retake exam to prove you've learned from your mistakes

Goal of exams is to test your own knowledge and understanding of an argument, so you should be able to try it again if you failed it before.
You should be able to understand what you did wrong first time, learn from your mistakes and prove yourself you now has good knowledge of the argument.

  10. to ensure that the courses are without errors and suiting with our current IBM Cloud.

I'm an IBM GBS employee from Germany. To show our quality it would be helpful to have courses without basic issues like not showing the instruction pictures. Another thing is that the training "IBM Cloud Essentials" is outdated and still referring to the BlueMix layout instead of our current IBM Cloud.

  11. remove the finished courses from "My Courses"

It's very difficult to see which courses I completed, since there is no indication other than "started" . The courses should be presented in different categories ("not started" , "started" , "completed" )

  14. Fix the damned buttons on the quizzes!

Apparently, your company is a "tad" slow when it comes to fixing the grayed out arrow selection buttons at the bottom of the pages. Users are complaining that this issue has affected the playform for over 2 years. Now I can't complete the quizzes. Get it together!

  15. Home work option & Case Studies

After every topic, a home work option which depicts a real time scenario and can be completed by applying the learnt techniques would help the students to validate their skills.

After a course, Case studies on how the modules were used in the real time scenario would throw more insights.

  17. update the course material

In "Getting started with Microservices with Istio and IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service" course when discussing "codebase" concept for 12 factor apps, it says "Each microservice should have its own project with its own main branch and membership but should all be stored in the same repository." but based on my understanding and snippet from official 12-factor website, this is not the case. Each app/microservice should have its OWN repository and shall NOT share with any other microservices. I think it could be improved by making what codebase means more clear. codebase is not a single repository like the original sentence…

  19. Explain how to test URLs if using play-with-docker

For those of us using Play-with-Docker, I think the only way to "visit" the URLs exposed by our containers is via local curl/wget? If so, I suggest adding that to the instructions. (Or if not, please enlighten us to another option.)
