Cognitive class has a high failure rate because the quiz questions are so poorly written. It's a common theme across most the material. Typically the people that created the education content created the quizzes and just because they create OK content doesn't mean they can actually write questions that are clear and not ambiguous or open to misinterpretation. There are industry rules and standards to writing quiz and certification exam questions. A great example that I noticed through the many courses I have taken is that many question writers will ask you to select all answers that apply without telling you how many you have to select. That is a big no no especially if you have a list of six answer choices combined with a poorly written question. A recipe for disaster and I can see why so people fail. Nothing ruins a good course faster than poorly written questions. I hope that IBM works on that.
